I have to admit, many of Boneface's images seem to borrow heavily from Patradoon's work, but Boneface is great at what he does... |
my genius is such that it has no real world applications... ...that's the genius of it
In the film clip to Pat Benatar's 'Love is a Battlefield' a scene takes place in a bar that has worried me. As I sometimes go to bars I thought it might make me feel more at ease if I understood a certain interaction that can apparently take place there.
In the scene a man tries to dance with a young woman, but Pat senses the young woman's reticence to dance and intervenes by shimmying her shoulders. He tries to shimmy back at Pat, I assume to assert his shimmying dominance, but ends up doused with a glass of beer. I understand in this situation I should ignore my natural instinct to shimmy back at someone when they shimmy at me, but what is the appropriate thing for me to do? Ok, I've talked to a few people about this and the general consensus is that the appropriate response to a shimmy is a shimmy. I think in the filmclip Pat, sensing the young lady's reticence to dance, gives a 'Back off' shimmy and the male attempts to assert his dominance with a shimmy of his own, but his shimmy is weak and Pat senses his weakness, and thus dumps the beer on him. Magnets are so freaking cool! I love trying to push north onto north and feeling that field of resistance while yelling, "You will kiss your brother!"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure seemed like you could. All felt a little redundant to me though.” Bad Gateway or Timeout errors?
